The cost that you will be charged to
paint a room all depends on who you
hire to do the work, but I will
endeavor to give you a reasonable Idea.

Paint walls 2 coats of wall color.
Undercoat and gloss all woodwork in room.

4x5x3=600 pounds
4x6x3.5=875 pounds
Add to the above the cost of materials, which
I can only estimate at about
150 pounds a
room depending on size. The much cheaper
option if you are at all handy is
to put on some overalls and do
it yourself!! saving the labor cost which
accounts for about 80-90% of the price.
To hire a professional decorator can vary
greatly in cost, usually the more skilled
the painter the the higher the cost.
On line painting sites are at the top end
of the scale, and are no more
skilled than a painter you could hire off
of a notice board in your own
high street. Local free newspaper have plenty of
good decorators looking for your custom, get
one or two to come round and give
you an estimate. You could do far worse!

Never give a written quote for an
unseen job, if you don't want a
nasty surprise.
Your estimate may be lower than your competitor
but he gets the work. Everyone has their own
priorities and the cost of the work may
not be top of the list for some.
Tidy work, good time keeping, references from former
clients, insurance, a nice clean vehicle and your
