Paint estimate cost
Every year there is a mad rush to
get decorating work finished for the Christmas
holidays. November brings a mad rush and
painters are usually very busy, and they
should take full advantage of this because
after Christmas we enter the dreaded KIPPER SEASON,
meaning everybody seems to go to sleep
and work can be very thin on the ground.
The most successful painting contractors tend to
never stop learning about all aspects of
the building industry not just painting alone.
Some of them start out as painters
then graduate to general building contractors. From
the very beginning some will be thinking
about starting their own company armed with the
valuable knowledge about estimating jobs, sales principles
and crucially estimating jobs that will show
a profit from their early days.
When the painting contractor arrives to tender
his estimate follow these guidelines. Explain clearly
how you want the decorating done, leaving
nothing out. Your choice of colors and materials,
does he supply them or you. Which option
is the cheapest? Tell the painter you require
a price for the whole job, no
day-work basis. Get 2 more estimates
from different painters.
Paint estimate cost
Prospective customers very often get several painters to
tender estimates. They shop around. A painter
would of course find it useful to
know the competitions bids, but should not
base his price on theirs because their
overheads are bound to be different from his.
Don't be afraid to tender a high price
if the job warrants it. If your
company has a good reputation customers will
take that into account.
